Handling a crisis: ten tips from GGPR

If you're a keen reader of our blog, then you'll know what we were up to at Spitalfields Market this October. Or at least you'll think you will!

All morning the Golden Goose public affairs team was busy launching the UK's first Food Insecurity market. But as soon as we'd stopped for our first cup of coffee, Zoe received a call that meant we had to switch into full blown crisis mode.

In fact, Golden Goose PR did not get off the phone until about 100 hours later. Read all about it in our interview with Gorkana!

Raising 200k for mothers2mothers with Annie Lennox

Today is World AIDS day, and we are celebrating knowing that through a great deal of hard work from Annie Lennox and some incredible people like Emma France, Kim Chappell, Victoria Wall and Carolina Manhusan Schwab, £200,000 was raised on Tuesday night to enable mothers2mothers to build and fund more than a dozen new sites for a year in Africa.

This alone will prevent tens of thousands of women from giving birth to HIV positive babies.

mothers2mothers reaches one in five of the world's HIV positive women and by 2015 hopes to virtually eliminate mother to child transmission of HIV.

We are proud to have supported the launch of m2m's European fundraising outreach and the opening of its London headquarters. Watch this space for more m2m.org news.

Happy Birthday Royal Exchange!

It's definitely worth getting a year older when The Girly Show turn up to sing you happy birthday.

That's exactly what happened at The Royal Exchange , when it celebrated its 10th anniversary as the premium luxury shopping and dining destination in the square mile this week.

With a festive themed birthday party, complete with a magical Jack Frost, a cirque du soleil style balancing act and a ringmaster greeting guests, there was endless fun to be had. Luxury retailers from Kiehls and Kojis to Paul Smith threw in birthday gifts - not for the Royal Exchange but for their guests to enjoy.

Thank you to Crumbs and Doilies, who provided 500 exquisite mini birthday cakes for all our friends to take home.

Next for your diaries: the 3rd of December, when luxury shops across the city open for a day of Saturday shopping in the run up to Christmas and an enchanted jewellery box comes to life on the steps of the Royal Exchange. If you love ballet, please come and see us outside REX every hour from 10-6 and watch our beautiful snow queen enchant the capital.

Sad farewell to Gerald Laing

In October, Golden Goose PR was honoured to launch the artist Gerald Laing's tribute to the late Amy Winehouse; a powerful collection of pop-art paintings that were displayed for a month at Thomas Gibson Fine Art in Mayfair.

Today it has sadly been reported that Gerald has passed away, aged 75.

It was a pleasure to meet Gerald, share a morning coffee with him at the Ivy Club and hear his stories of Warhol, creating the Twickenham Stadium sculptures, and about his life and beliefs as one of the most important artists of the past century.

We are all sad that he has passed away and are thoughts are with Gerald's friends and family.
