Golden Goose PR puts our water wings on to launch London Baby Swim

It's been quite a week of events at Golden Goose PR.

We're still drying ourselves down from the launch of London Baby Swim, the new baby and toddler swimming centre in Wandsworth.

While gyms and health clubs offer swimming classes to babies and children in their early years, until the launch of London Baby Swim, no other sites were purpose built for swimming lessons and water fun specifically for babies ranging from six weeks up until four years of age.

The Wandsworth London Baby Swim centre is the second site in the UK. The first, in Osterley, already attracts more than 700 families each week.

With one baby, four toddlers and two children between us we're booking ourselves lessons now...

Celebrating the new Suzannah boutique

This week we've been busy launching Suzannah’s new West London boutique at 3 New Quebec Street, W1.

Spread over two floors, the new shop houses all of Suzannah’s collections – from bridal and cocktail, to her famous tea dresses, worn by style icons from the young royals and Jasmine Guinness, to pop diva Paloma Faith.

As well as rows of modern, vintage couture inspired dresses cut from premium Italian silks, the Suzannah boutique also sells striking headwear - perfect for the British social season - from milliners Edwina Ibbotson ,Gina Foster and Emily Baxendale.

To complete her immaculate style from head to heel, Suzannah is now in collaboration with Emmy shoes for bridal and ready-to-wear.

The new Suzannah boutique is located at 3 New Quebec Street, W1H 7RE.

We're already loving this week's Grazia which has selected one of our favourite Suzannah dresses as a perfect look for a country wedding.

Launching the world's first 100% recycled plastic cup - the coverage continues!

It's wonderful to be able to launch a product or discovery that is genuinely a first-to-market.

It's even better when the invention is 100% sustainable and a giant step in the direction of greener, earth friendlier living.

For that reason, we're proudly cheering on our client, Invicta Plastics Ltd, the British design and mould specialist that invented the plastic ruler, the first ever pop memorabilia (for The Beatles and The Hollies) and the fake pearl. Because Invicta has beaten global competition to create the world’s first rigid, food-safe products from 100% recycled plastic bottles (PET), lids and milk cartons (HDPE).

The breakthroughs have taken almost four years of research and millions of pounds of investment in the new technology and we've been announcing this over the past week with some brilliant articles in the Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph, The Independent and the 'i'.

With Invicta's incredible discoveries, any brand can now consider using high quality recycled plastics before virgin polymers for a very wide range of product manufacturing - watch this spot for more announcements and partnerships.

A busy day for DNA at Who Do You Think You Are? Live

London's Olympia was packed out today with men and women of all ages tracking their family histories for the first day of the annual genealogy exhibition Who Do You Think You Are? Live .

Greg Wallace was among the guests speaking about his adventures into ancestry, and over the weekend we'll be joined by actress Samantha Womack and former England and Liverpool football player John Barnes.

Culture Compass's Loma-Ann Marks was among the press at the exhibition today, meeting up with the My Heritage and Love To Learn teams, whilst discovering facts about her past.

And of course, there were those who couldn't resist taking the ginger gene test...a DNA revelation that was covered across the national media only weeks ago.

Pop-up operas and silver screen flirting

It's Valentine's Week, which means we've been very creative planning campaigns for clients including flirting coach Jean Smith and The Bentall Centre, one of the leading shopping destinations in the UK according to The Sun newspaper in December!

Tonight, Jean kicks off her new workshop and seminar, 'Flirt Like A Silver Screen Siren' at the London Film Museum, which has had some great previews in ES Magazine and Metro.

Inspired by Marilyn Monroe, Doris Day, Mae West, Greta Garbo, Katherine Hepburn and Bette Davis, Jean Smith has created an inspiring talk to show women how the original Hollywood goddesses captivated audiences – as well as the many men who fell in love with them.

Jean also runs ‘Flirting and Walking tours’ in London, with her next tour taking place on February 15th at 6:45pm, from the foyer of the National Portrait Gallery.

And as if we need more romantic inspiration, we've already seen the incredible performers from the Pop-Up opera company tread the boards...or rather the lower ground floor of The Bentall Centre, surprising shoppers with scenes from love story L’Elisir d’amore.

The performers, decked in aprons and washing up gloves, filled Kingston with song as silent movie style captions played behind them, to the delight of those watching.

Clementine Lovell, director of Pop Up-Opera, said “The unique architecture and acoustics at The Bentall Centre are perfect.
It’s a beautiful building so we were delighted to have the chance to use this space as our stage, and bring our musical story to the shoppers. We’ve performed in many unusual places including boats made of scrap metal and a garlic farm! Here, because the audience was standing so close to us we were able to surprise them, not just with the performance, but also by handing out little romantic gifts”.

Aaaah!

Rocking Horse set to rock up Mayfair

This spring, Rocking Horse Mayfair, the newest venture from Mark Alexiou and Mark Cutler, will launch on Conduit Street. Today's brilliant article in the Sunday Times explains what's in store.

Matthew Goodman says of Rocking Horse: One thing they promise — exclusive won't mean stuffy. "It will be a party place. If we're playing Guns N' Roses, you will be on your seat doing air guitar, not sat down having a nice gin and tonic," said Cutler.

It continues: Alexiou and Cutler, who are already planning a second Rocking Horse in New York next year.

We're front page of the Sunday Times!

It's not every day that a campaign idea makes the front page of the Sunday Times Magazine, but we're so proud to say that this week's issue features the giant image of the Royal Family - complete with our star abseiler who layed the final panel - created for our client Sea Containers.

The image and caption say it all.

Well done to everyone who worked on this incredible campaign.

Today, we PR a Superhuman!

It's not every day that we get to publicise a Superhuman, but 15 minutes ago on the Discovery Channel, Golden Goose PR client Ben Lee smashed his own Guinness World Record for the fastest violin playing live on air and we're very proud to be telling his story.

In the Discovery Channel show, ‘Superhuman Showdown’ which aired tonight, Ben beat his own world record to play ‘The Flight of the Bumblebee’ at an average of 15 notes per second, causing judges and scientists to unanimously vote him the fastest Superhuman on earth.

Ben was tested for speed against world base race champion Frode Johannessen, who can ‘fly’ unassisted at 170pm, speed shooter Jerry Miculek who can fire eight rounds on four targets in 1.06 seconds, head spinner Aichi Ono who can perform 135 head spins in one minute without experiencing dizziness and speed eater Pete Czerwinski who can eat a 12 inch pizza in 34 seconds.

Ben has become the first person to break the ‘Magic Minute’ barrier which most professionals said could not be done. His record for playing Flight of the Bumblebee note perfect on the electric violin is 58.05 seconds

Ben plays in electric rock violin band FUSE with Linzi Stoppard and their new single 'Light Up The Fuse' is released next month, complete with incredible graphics and production from Tom Stiller, who was the genius behind the special effects in the Harry Potter movies.

Lots to celebrate this Friday!

Golden Goose PR has been busy this Friday!

We started the day visiting the head quarters of the Press Association with Ben Lee, four times Guinness World Record breaking fastest violonist and one half of electric rock violin duo FUSE.

The PA team looked after us brilliantly, and we can't thank Abi Jackson, Kate Whiting and Diana Pilkington enough.

Ben performed live during our visit...we can't say much more but look out for some exciting news in weeks to come, exclusively released by the PA.

In the meantime, across the other side of London, 300 cakes were arriving at The Bentall Centre in Kingston-Upon-Thames from Sweet Revenge, to celebrate 20 years of fantastic shopping since Surrey's famous mall first opened its doors.

Leading retailers took part in the birthday party running special offers in stores.

A happy day for all!

It's time for David Carter's Spooky Stories at The Bentall Centre

It's Halloween week, time to celebrate ghosts, ghouls, goblins and everything that goes bump in the night.

And who better to do this with than legendary spooky story tellers David Carter and Nell Phoenix?

Golden Goose PR has brought the pair, known for telling scary tales throughout the year at the acclaimed 40 Winks Hotel in London to The Bentall Centre in Kingston-Upon-Thames.

David and Nell have adapted a series of bewitching stories for a family audience, suitable for even the most squeamish of children of all ages.

Today at The Bentall Centre, they have come with props and rife imaginations to captivate audiences beneath the haunted tree, beside the enchanted book of spells - giving Kingston families the chance to catch a taster of the famous London based readings that Time Out, Vogue and the Saturday Times have applauded with rave reviews.

Beware!

Already over 20 pieces of coverage for our Access Christmas campaign

Only 61 days until Christmas! But already Golden Goose PR is racking up the coverage for our client, Access Self Storage, which launched its Christmas campaign this month.

We've been asking communities across the UK to get into the festive spirit a little early, by donating new and unused presents, games and toys to the Access Self Storage Christmas Collection in aid of the Children’s Society.

Access Self Storage has created special drop-off points in its stores, where gifts will be collected and delivered in time for Christmas to local Children’s Society shops.

GGPR will reveal the surprises behind the door as part of the official countdown to Christmas on the first of December.

The Children’s Society works with and supports some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people in the UK, who really need help at Christmas. Gifts that are donated will raise funds for often overlooked young people such as runaways and carers, and provide support for families of young children who live in poverty.

In 2011, Access Self Storage collected 5,000 toys for charity and even received donations of signed boxes of ‘fashion Barbies’ from couture designer Julien MacDonald.

Access Self Storage spokesperson Kevin Pratt said: “For 2012 we’re aiming to beat our Christmas Collection record and can’t wait to invite local guests to unlock our doors in December. There’s a rumour we may even get a hand from Father Christmas.”

Supporting Lord Coe and the PSP Association

Golden Goose PR has been involved with many fantastic charities over the years: Samsung's pink ribbon campaigns with Breakthrough Breast Cancer; film charity MediCinema; Bottletop and non-profit organisation Peace One Day.

It was for this reason that we were approached by the PSP Association , a charity created in 1994 by Brigadier Michael Koh OBE and his wife Sara, after she was diagnosed with the illness.

PSP is a rare and rapid degenerative brain disease which far too many people are still unaware of.

It affects fewer than six in 100,000 - but the people and their families who live with the terminal diagnosis need all the help they can get.

Lord Coe got involved with the charity several years after it was set up, and then by tragic coincidence his mother Angela was diagnosed with PSP and passed away in 2005.

It was an incredible evening as Lord Coe hosted his first event for the PSP Association at The Dorchester , called 'My Journey to 2012'.

Guests including Daley Thompson, Steve Cram and Duncan Goodhew came to the event to support Lord Coe and raise awareness of PSP.

Olympic gold medal shooter Peter Wilson also attended, as did model David Gandy, who performed a key role celebrating British fashion in the Olympic closing ceremony.

Sir Michael Parkinson, Sir Philip Green and Lord Archer were all a huge part of the event - with Sir Philip noted for his generous bidding in the auction.

The highlight, however, was the moving speech by Hannah Daykin whose father passed away from PSP just three weeks ago.

Over £200,000 wss raised which will help fund research into finding a cure for PSP and assisting those living with the disease.

Great British City Style at The Brunswick Centre

The Brunswick Shopping Centre in Bloomsbury was the centre of a Great British City Style event this weekend, with a promotion and PR campaign created by Golden Goose PR, working in association with luxury travel experts Mr & Mrs Smith.

Free gifts - ranging from hair-cuts from Sanrizz to £100 shopping vouchers from Hobbs, French Connection accessories, dinner and wine at Carluccios and Renoir Cinema tickets for two - were given away to passers-by to win on the spot.

Through working with Mr & Mrs Smith, we were able to offer shoppers £100 Mr & Mrs Smith Get a Room! gift cards to use towards a four-night stay in any Mr & Mrs Smith hotel – including Babington House, Browns and Blakes in the UK.

There are 42 shops and restaurants at the Brunswick Centre, open from 9am until 9pm from Monday to Saturday and from midday until six pm on Sunday.

Purple Ronnie turns 25 on the beeb

Purple Ronnie, the nation's favourite romantic rhyming stick man, turns 25 this year - and so we were delighted to arrange for his creator, Giles Andreae, to appear on BBC Breakfast this week.

As well as talking about Purple Ronnie's history over the past quarter of a century, Giles created a poem to give the British Women's Football team some extra support and penned a few odes to presenters Charlie Stayt and Susanna Reid.

We hear that 200 people signed up to follow @iampurpleronnie on Twitter within minutes of Giles's interview. What a charismatic chap he is!

Fridays are for cocktails!

After a busy week in the office the team at GG like nothing better than to start the weekend in style with a delicious Buffalo Trace cocktail and today after a rather gloomy week in London we thought we’d take some bourbon flavoured cheer to our friends at My Daily, AOL and Huffington Post.

Along with a fabulous team from Hi-Spirits we set up a pop up bar in the Huffington Post offices and introduced the teams to some tasty Friday afternoon refreshments.

The firm favourite was the fresh tasting mint julep which is made from Buffalo Trace, Mint Leaves and simple syrup. DO try this at home!

The team also got to learn about Buffalo Trace’s heritage. Did you know that the name Buffalo Trace actually derives from the founders of the award winning distillery literally following a gang of Buffalos to a river crossing? #FridayFact!

Golden Goose PR meets The Queen at Sea Containers

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II made a spectacular appearance at Sea Containers on London's South Bank today, when she was abseiled into position alongside Prince Philip and their children to feature in a giant 100m x 70m wrap celebrating the Diamond Jubilee. The image, taken at Her Majesty's Silver Jubilee 35 years ago, took 45 hours and a team of eight to erect across the face of the building. Sky, Reuters, CNBC, Associated Press, National News, the Daily Telegraph and the Evening Standard were among the team of journalists attending the photocall at 10am. Throughout the week building up to our big reveal, we've been busy interviewing global design guru Tom Dixon about the incredible building work going on behind this wrap - look out for Europe's first Mondrian Hotel, the Mondrian London, opening at Sea Containers at the end of 2013, along with 300,000 square feet of luxury, state-of-the-art office space - many of which are located at penthouse level, boasting views across the Thames. We will certainly consider moving to this new address as soon as we get to recce the available space! In the meantime however, Golden Goose PR has set up a pop-up office inside HMS President to look after media visiting the Jubilee Wrap this week, we look forward to receiving the BBC here this evening. Thank you, HMS President, for looking after us so well. And many thanks have to go to the brilliant team at Service Graphics for creating such a brilliant image and to Jim Marks for incredible photography and filming.

Springing into fashion

The start of spring has been all about fashion in the Golden Goose PR nest.
Only weeks ago, we launched fashion community, themuse.tv with the front row's favourite fashionista, Bip Ling, behind the decks.
We had an exceptional turn out from the style world, including Antoni & Alison who opened London Fashion Week and whom we are excited to be working with to raise awareness of brain charity PSP.
Fast forward a few weeks and we joined forces with couture and ready-to-wear designers Suzannah and Rebecca Street, as well as milliner Edwina Ibottson, to host a Brit Lux salon showcase at Quo Vadis in Soho.
Golden Goose PR client, the world renowed fine jewellers Robinson Pelham, took part in the salon and displayed their autumn/winter 2012 pieces which include breath taking new brown diamond and emerald pieces set in yellow and white gold.
Guests left with the most covetable goody bags, including yellow gold and diamond champagne bracelets by Robinson Pelham, Mercy Delta union flag scarves and silk make-up bags hand cut by Suzannah.

We would like to thank drinks masters Hi-Spirits for the brilliant cocktails and g&t's shaken up with London's Dry Gin and Buffalo Trace.

Pussying about at itsu

With a week to go until natural energy drink guru, the Pussy drinks entrepreneur Jonnie Shearer, joins the Sunday Times Rich List, Golden Goose PR threw a celebratory meet and greet at itsu introducing the Pussy to team to key media, including the BBC producer Lorna Blount, CNBC's Harris Braude and Pomp's Simon Ewin.

Genius molecular mixologist Mike Stringer from Flip It created some outstanding Pussy cocktails, including Ginger Pussy, Sweet Berry Pussy and a grand finale of Pussy ice cream mixed with lychee and created with a dramatic blast of freezine liquid nitrogen.

All this was accompanied by the most lavish sushi feast that could be imagined, from the fantastic chefs at itsu.

Let the Big Egg Hunt begin!

We at Golden Goose PR love to get excited about the Easter Bunny...but this year we are particularly excited about the Easter Penguin.
Let us explain!
Today, 200 giant decorated eggs are released into the capital - each decorated by incredible designers and personalities, from Vivienne Westwood and Faberge to Bombass & Parr and our very own jewellery client, Robinson Pelham. All have been placed in secret locations as part of the Big Egg Hunt, a brilliant way to raise funds and awareness for Action For Children and Elephant Family.
Vanessa Chilton, creative director at Robinson Pelham, had given birth just weeks before when she started work on Robinson Pelham's egg, designing a giant male Emperor Penguin, nestling his partner's egg under his belly and away from the frosty ground. The Robinson Pelham egg is decorated with sparkling crystals, each adorning the back of the penguin and reflecting the night's sky.
With 200 remarkable eggs to spot as you travel around London, it's a fun challenge to see how many you can spot, and to see where you can find them.
You can find out more about the Big Egg Hunt right here on http://www.facebook.com/thebigegghunt or http://www.twitter.com/thebigegghuntTwitter.

The event is set to smash Guinness
World Records for the most participants in an Easter egg hunt and the world’s
most expensive chocolate egg.
Good luck P-p-p-picking out the penguin!

Larry Lamb gets ready for Who Do You Think You Are Live?

The week of our annual genealogy show, Who Do You Think You Are Live, actor Larry Lamb tells Metro about his quest to find out more about his family history. We at Golden Goose PR are
big fans of the Lamb family, and look forward to meeting more of them if we can help to trace further hidden ancestors!

Feeling The Force with MediCinema

Golden Goose PR has been to many parties, but never before have we spent the evening in the company of Darth Vader, Darth Maul, various Sandmen, C3P0 and an R2D2 unit.
At the MediCinema inaugural Star Wars dinner and quiz at the Park Lane Hilton, we did just that.
The event was the first major MediCinema fundraiser by the charity's new CEO Stephen Moore, former CEO of Twentieth Century Fox.

Dougie and Tom from McFly, Warwick Davis, Edith
Bowman, Alex Zane, Vanessa Feltz, Linda Lusardi and Anneka Rice joined us on the night.
Sci fi fans bid on Star Wars original light sabres and Jedi fighting classes at Elstree Studios under Star Wars stunt master Nick Gillard. Brian May’s electric guitar was also one
of the auction attractions, going for £6,000 to the London Film Museum.

One seven year old little boy, Uzayr Haider, who has recently had a kidney transplant and was able to recover at a MediCinema hospital helped to single-handedly raised 10k for MediCinema through a special auction lot for Spiderman 4 premier tickets.

Edith Bowman, who hosted the night with Alex Zane arrived dressed as Princess Leia in £15,000 of glittering Robinson Pelham http://www.robinsonpelham.co.uk brown and yellow diamonds jewellery.
We'd like to thank our friends at CyberCandy http://www.cybercandy.co.uk/aaasmt/ for the generous donation of mini tins of Star Wars mints for the party, as you can see a favourite with Dougie McFly who undoubtedly missed confectionary whilst in the jungle.

Who Do You Think You Are?

Who Do YOU Think You Are? It’s easy to find out!
Golden Goose PR is handing all media once again for Who Do
You Think You Are? LIVE. The 2012 event opens at Olympia on 24th
February and in advance of visiting enthusiasts taking in the exhibitors,
seeing celebrity speakers from the BBC version of the show up close and talking
to the genealogy experts we’ve been busily placing feature items in the media
and across the consumer chat shows.

Antiques Roadshow regular Eric Knowles today appeared on
ITV1’s The Alan Titchmarsh Show and discussed his role in the show where he’ll
be returning as the onsite Heirloom Detective helping visitors trace the roots
of their family treasures.

He was also joined on screen by Jan, a WDYTYA? LIVE previous visitor and family history enthusiast who’d written into WDYTYA’s website to take part in the feature on the show.

Eric traced back the originality of a clock she had inherited from her great grandfather who’d been given the clock as a gift in 1890.

Though the clock turned out to be worthless, its memories remain priceless.

WDYTYA? LIVE opens on 24th February
and you can buy tickets at: http://www.whodoyouthinkyouarelive.com/

Happy Christmas - and what a year!

What a year 2011 has been!

We started off freezing in the January rain, working alongside ActionAid to create the world’s first ‘Happy Bubble’, a place where the best things in life were given freely to passers-by, alongside giant plasmas playing footage of the life saving work that the charity does in the developing world. Together with our survey, which revealed the things that truly make us happy, we achieved wipe out national broadsheet and tabloid coverage and quite a few radio interviews. We’re proud to say that we were chosen to be featured in PR Week’s Campaigns of 2011 (at news-stands right now!) for this very successful integrated communications strategy.

March saw us manning the media room at WOW, the inaugural Women of the World festival at London’s Southbank Centre. We were excited to be working with Annie Lennox, Kate Nash, Paloma Faith and VV Brown. Thank you to Grazia, the Daily Mirror, Radio 4 and Marie Claire for some great press support.

As spring and the Royal Wedding approached, we were delighted to learn that our jewellery client Robinson Pelham had been asked to design a collection of jewellery for HRH the Duchess of Cambridge to wear on her wedding day. The pieces they created are now recognised all over the world, and our invitation to comment on the wedding live from the media centre at Buckingham Palace meant that we had the ear of the most influential global media. It was a day we’ll definitely not forget in a hurry!

As summer set in, we had to fire fight for online dating client, BeautifulPeople.com, which once more had to cull members who didn’t belong on the site. The decision to remove 30,000 ‘shreks’ went viral – for the third time in twelve months, the site was featured across global news platforms, from tv and radio to websites and blogs.

Our campaign brought us to the attention of Pussy 100% Natural Energy Drinks, who were gearing up for a global launch with investment from Holly and Sam Branson.

This announcement received over 3,000 pieces of online coverage and a great piece in the Sunday Times. Here’s what we got up to with the Bransons and Jonnie Shearer at the Kensington Roof Gardens one blustery autumn day!

On the 21st of September, it was peace day. Golden Goose PR manned the press office leading up to the event, and the media room at the O2 Arena for the live Peace One Day concert. Broadsheet, radio, showbiz and entertainment media gave us a great show and helped us launch the countdown to the first ever global truce day: the date for your diaries is 21st September 2012.

Towards the end of the summer, we worked with the late, great Gerald Laing; the British pop artist whose striking portraits of Brigitte Bardot and Amy Winehouse are instantly recognisable throughout the world. Gerald was planning his Amy Winehouse tribute exhibition at Thomas Gibson Fine Art in Mayfair. Thank you to Aidan Radnedge at Metro for featuring the exhibition so prominently. We were very sad to hear only a month later that Gerald, aged 75, had passed away. It is a huge honour to us that we worked on what turned out to be his last exhibition.

October and November also came with heart warming projects; firstly for the British Red Cross, to create and man the world’s first ‘Food Insecurity Market’ (we simultaneously contained a front page news crisis for our client Jani-King live from Spitalfields) and then for the European launch of mothers2mothers, an incredible charity that reaches one in five of the world’s HIV positive women. It was wonderful to work with Annie Lennox, XIX and the amazing Kim Chappell of Chappel Productions once again.

As November drew to an end we were busy celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Royal Exchange as a luxury shopping centre with the Girly Show.

Finally, we’ve gotten up to a great deal in December. But if we tell you about just one thing, it has to be the fact we generated over 100 pieces of coverage this month for one client alone: Access Self Storage. Our ‘countdown to Christmas’ advent idea, revealing a room at a different Access Self Storage filled with toys donated for local children’s charities has been an out-of-this-world success. It even got Julien Macdonald to donate Fashion Barbies at his local store!

As the New Year approaches, we have two new wins to announce. One is the most exciting digital fashion launch for young women and the other is an iconic cartoon character that anyone who grew up in the 80’s will love and know. But that’s all we can say for now!

We are really looking forward to the next 12 months.

HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS!!!!

The Snow Queen casts a spell over the heart of the City

In early December, as excited children eagerly opened advent calendars and edited letters to Santa, a magical spell was cast over the Square Mile.

Christmas in the City was the brainchild of the Cheapside Initiative. For the very first time the Dickensian thoroughfare became a traffic free zone as a Bollywood Brass Band, St. Paul's Choir and mince pie enthusiasts came together for a day of festive retail Nirvana.

Further delights were in store at luxury shopping and dining destination the Royal Exchange.

Visitors to the Grade 1 listing building were invited to open a magical jewellery box and awaken an enchanted Snow Queen who lay sleeping inside. Situated between the pillars of the main entrance, the art deco box – over-spilling with pearls and trinkets large enough to grace the necks of a giant - had a spell cast over it every hour, when the Snow Queen rose from her wintry slumber and danced for all to see. Bustling shoppers could not help but be distracted as the Snow Queen ballerina pirouetted to the Nutcracker Suite, illuminating the heart of the City.

Golden Goose PR worked with installation artist Emma Winter to build the gigantic jewellery box and bring the City to life. Please visit Emma's site to see more of her fantastic creations.

Handling a crisis: ten tips from GGPR

If you're a keen reader of our blog, then you'll know what we were up to at Spitalfields Market this October. Or at least you'll think you will!

All morning the Golden Goose public affairs team was busy launching the UK's first Food Insecurity market. But as soon as we'd stopped for our first cup of coffee, Zoe received a call that meant we had to switch into full blown crisis mode.

In fact, Golden Goose PR did not get off the phone until about 100 hours later. Read all about it in our interview with Gorkana!

Raising 200k for mothers2mothers with Annie Lennox

Today is World AIDS day, and we are celebrating knowing that through a great deal of hard work from Annie Lennox and some incredible people like Emma France, Kim Chappell, Victoria Wall and Carolina Manhusan Schwab, £200,000 was raised on Tuesday night to enable mothers2mothers to build and fund more than a dozen new sites for a year in Africa.

This alone will prevent tens of thousands of women from giving birth to HIV positive babies.

mothers2mothers reaches one in five of the world's HIV positive women and by 2015 hopes to virtually eliminate mother to child transmission of HIV.

We are proud to have supported the launch of m2m's European fundraising outreach and the opening of its London headquarters. Watch this space for more m2m.org news.

Happy Birthday Royal Exchange!

It's definitely worth getting a year older when The Girly Show turn up to sing you happy birthday.

That's exactly what happened at The Royal Exchange , when it celebrated its 10th anniversary as the premium luxury shopping and dining destination in the square mile this week.

With a festive themed birthday party, complete with a magical Jack Frost, a cirque du soleil style balancing act and a ringmaster greeting guests, there was endless fun to be had. Luxury retailers from Kiehls and Kojis to Paul Smith threw in birthday gifts - not for the Royal Exchange but for their guests to enjoy.

Thank you to Crumbs and Doilies, who provided 500 exquisite mini birthday cakes for all our friends to take home.

Next for your diaries: the 3rd of December, when luxury shops across the city open for a day of Saturday shopping in the run up to Christmas and an enchanted jewellery box comes to life on the steps of the Royal Exchange. If you love ballet, please come and see us outside REX every hour from 10-6 and watch our beautiful snow queen enchant the capital.

Sad farewell to Gerald Laing

In October, Golden Goose PR was honoured to launch the artist Gerald Laing's tribute to the late Amy Winehouse; a powerful collection of pop-art paintings that were displayed for a month at Thomas Gibson Fine Art in Mayfair.

Today it has sadly been reported that Gerald has passed away, aged 75.

It was a pleasure to meet Gerald, share a morning coffee with him at the Ivy Club and hear his stories of Warhol, creating the Twickenham Stadium sculptures, and about his life and beliefs as one of the most important artists of the past century.

We are all sad that he has passed away and are thoughts are with Gerald's friends and family.

Take to the saddle in style

City Cycle Style, a new exhibition by leading fashion photographer Horst A. Friedrichs will be on display at London's Royal Exchange until next Friday 29 October 2011.

The collection captures 40 of the Capital’s most stylish cyclists on their two-wheeled transport of choice; from vintage and fixed-gear to classic lightweight and Pashley bicycles.

Cycling enthusiasts, The Lord Mayor Alderman Michael Bear and Boris Johnson can be seen alongside London’s style-setters including Sir. Paul Smith, the British fashion designer; Jonny Woo, Queen of London’s drag scene (pictured); Hazel Robinson, stylist to Madonna and one half of cutting edge fashion label House of Jazz and Jonathan Kelsey, shoe designer for Matthew Williamson, Mulberry and Hunter.

“From fashionistas to financiers, an increasing number of Londoners are taking to the saddle,” explains Horst. “The bicycle is now being seen as a reflection of your own personality and fashion choices rather than a simple way to get around.”

We couldn't agree more.

Watch the making of video or visit the exhibition at The Royal Exchange, EC3V 3LR between Cornhill and Threadneedle Street.
